Hundreds of people with eye ailments
came from miles around in response to
our television and radio announcements
along the north coast weeks before.
Dr. Kelly and Adam Kovac screen potential patients for
surgery and eye exams in the hospital lobby.
Mission Accomplished: The Results of Months of Planning and Preparation. 60 surgeries, 400 patients given eye exams, reading/prescription glasses.

NO SIGHT LEFT EYE 20 YEARS

This man had a ptyerigium, or a
growth of tissue growing over the
eye that leads to blindness. The
surgeons removed the growth.
From the look on her face, this
woman was very happy to
receive a pair of glasses;
something of a luxury in
countries like the Dominican
Republic.
