MISSION STATEMENT Island Impact Ministries, a non-profit organization was founded by Robert and Kelli Nelson of Southampton, NY in December 2003. Robert and Kelli, drawing from their many years of mission experience in Haiti ,began Island Impact to bring education and basic medical care to the poorest people on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, in Sosua, Puerto Plata. Island Impact partners with local Dominican leaders assisting their schools by providing child sponsorship and their clinics by providing building improvements and supplies. Island Impact also provides ongoing medical care through our incountry satellite clinic and uses mission teams and medical teams from the United States, Canada and Europe to accomplish our goals. |
