| The most vulnerable people in the Dominican Republic are children. The medical and educational needs of these little ones are mostly unmet. 25% of Dominican and Haitian children are malnourished. Public education is insufficient for the student population. Therefore, many children do not attend school. Those students who do attend school, sit in severely overcrowded classrooms.
