_The World Health Organization estimates that 90% of the people who are blind live in developing countries. For children the number one cause of blindness is Strabismus or crossed eyes. Dr. Kelly Hutcheson's practices Ophthalmology at Children's National Medical Center, in Washington D.C. She dreamed of making a difference in the lives of children who had no access to medical care. Without hesitancy her colleagues caught the vision and joined her to make a difference in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Partnering with Island Impact Ministries, each year a team of surgeons arrives to find hundreds of people waiting to receive the care that only they can provide.
