The number one cause of blindness in Dominican children is crossed eyes. Island Impact together with Casa de Luz is solving the problem, one pair of eyes at a time making a lot of children very happy!

Cataracts account for 48% of the blindness in the Dominican Republic.  Dr. John Mitchell is restoring sight to the blind through cataract surgery.

A New Look
Many Dominicans have lost eyes in accidents and have lived without a prosthetic eye.  A special team of oculist's  from Canada decided to change that.
